Best iGCSE schools in Mysore (2026 guide)

iGCSEParent Guides6 min readBy Tom Mercer

Mysuru's iGCSE market is smaller than Bangalore's or Hyderabad's, and that shapes what a shortlist really looks like. Most of the branded international chains that families recognise from other Indian metros (Oakridge, Chirec, Vibgyor, Sancta Maria, Global Indian, Gaudium) don't have a Mysuru campus. What's left is a set of locally-founded schools that have quietly built their own Cambridge pathways, mostly across the Vijayanagar and Hootagalli belt in the north-west, Yadavagiri in the city centre, the Belagola/KRS Road corridor to the west, and Bannur Road to the south.

Cambridge (CAIE) is the dominant board here. Only one school in Mysuru currently runs both Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel iGCSE on its own site: De Paul International Residential School (DPIRS) at Belagola. Every other school on the shortlist below is Cambridge-only. If your family specifically wants an Edexcel pathway in the Mysuru area, DPIRS is the option.

How to shortlist an iGCSE school in Mysuru

A few practical filters help narrow things down quickly:

  • Board fit. Cambridge is the norm. Only pick Edexcel if you have a specific reason (transferring in from an Edexcel school, family already familiar with the syllabus). In Mysuru that decision points you to DPIRS.
  • Day vs residential. Mysuru has a real mix. DPIRS and JIRSM run residential and day-boarding. TLCi, I Can, St Lawrence and NPSI are day schools.
  • Location and commute. The Vijayanagar/Hootagalli belt (TLCi, NPSI) sits close to the Infosys campus and works well for families in the north-west. Yadavagiri (St Lawrence) is central. Belagola and KRS Road (DPIRS, I Can) sit west along the Mysore-Bangalore corridor.
  • Track record with Cambridge. I Can has been Cambridge-affiliated since 2016. TLCi describes itself as Mysuru's first Cambridge-approved international school. DPIRS's Cambridge programme is newer (launched 2024-25), though its Edexcel iGCSE has been running since 2011-12.

Top iGCSE schools in Mysuru

Top iGCSE schools in Mysore include the following. Cambridge-affiliated schools in the city include TLCi, DPIRS, I Can, St Lawrence, JIRSM and NPSI.

The Learning Curve International School (TLCi)

  • Board: Cambridge (CAIE), Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary, iGCSE and Cambridge International A Levels / IAL.
  • Location: CA #7, 80 Feet Road, Manchegowdana Koppalu, Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, Mysuru 570017.
  • Grades: Kindergarten through Grade 12.
  • Website: tlcimysore.com

TLCi positions itself as Mysuru's first Cambridge-approved international school and cites around 1,256 students across all grades on its homepage. It runs a full KG-12 Cambridge pathway, which matters if you want continuity from primary through A Level on one site.

De Paul International Residential School (DPIRS)

  • Board: Cambridge (CAIE iGCSE, launched 2024-25) AND Pearson Edexcel iGCSE (running since 2011-12) AND Edexcel International Advanced Level. Also runs ICSE, ISC and NIOS in parallel.
  • Location: Belagola, Srirangapatna Taluk, Mandya District 571606 (about 15 km from Mysuru city, on the Mysore-Bangalore corridor).
  • Grades: Kindergarten through Grade XII, residential and day-boarding.
  • Website: dpirs.org

DPIRS is the only school in Mysuru with a confirmed live Edexcel pathway on its own site, and it's the notable dual-board option in the region. iGCSE subjects listed include English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, ICT, Economics, Business Studies and Accounts. The Edexcel track is more established than the Cambridge one, so the first Cambridge iGCSE cohort here will only sit exams around June 2027.

I Can International School

  • Board: Cambridge (CAIE), affiliated since 2016.
  • Location: 63/2, Jakkanakuppe, Belogola Hobli, off KRS Road, KRS Post, Mysuru 571606 (address per third-party listings, not on the school's homepage).
  • Grades: Nursery to Grade 12 per third-party listings, with class sizes capped at around 20 pupils per grade.
  • Website: icanschool.edu.in

I Can describes itself as "Mysuru's first Cambridge International School" and is recognised by the Government of Karnataka. It's a small-cohort day school running a Cambridge "Pathway" continuum from primary through A Level.

St. Lawrence International School

  • Board: Cambridge (CAIE), Cambridge Primary, Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary (iGCSE), confirmed via the careers360 directory.
  • Location: Medar Block, 8th Cross Road, Yadavagiri, Mysuru 570020 (a 1.2-acre campus).
  • Grades: Kindergarten (EDEN) through Secondary.
  • Website: stlawrenceinternationalmysore.com

St Lawrence describes itself on its own homepage as "The Largest iGCSE School in Mysore". It's a compact urban day school in central Mysuru, so useful if you want a Yadavagiri commute and don't need boarding.

Jnanasarovara International Residential School (JIRSM)

  • Board: Cambridge iGCSE plus ICSE, ISC and Karnataka State Board (multi-stream). The Cambridge iGCSE affiliation is stated on multiple third-party listings (ezyschooling, edustoke, careers360) but isn't prominently featured on JIRSM's own homepage, worth confirming directly with admissions.
  • Location: Parashuramanagara, Bhugathahalli, Vajamangala Post, Bannur Road, Mysuru 570028.
  • Grades: Kindergarten through Grade 12, day and boarding.
  • Website: jirsm.com

JIRSM was established in 2002 and runs both residential and day options. The multi-board setup means siblings can be enrolled in different streams on one campus.

NPS International School (NPSI), Mysore

  • Board: Cambridge (CAIE iGCSE) plus CBSE and ICSE. The school runs an integrated curriculum for Grades 1-8, then splits into CBSE for Grades 9-12 with iGCSE as an optional pathway. Cambridge iGCSE affiliation is confirmed on the school's own history/location page.
  • Location: No. 21, Anjanadri Road, Vijayanagar 4th Stage, 2nd Phase, Mysuru 570032 (a 5.5-acre campus, around 5 km from Infosys Mysuru).
  • Grades: Kindergarten through Grade 12.
  • Website: npsmysore.com

NPSI is part of the NPS network and commenced in 2013. Its headline programme is CBSE, with iGCSE offered as an alternative stream rather than the flagship pathway.

Where Cognito fits in

Whichever school you choose, Cambridge iGCSE Sciences and Maths cover a lot of ground, and most Mysuru families end up looking for a way to make revision more efficient at home. Cognito is a UK-built platform that a growing number of iGCSE students use alongside school. It covers Cambridge iGCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths with short video lessons, worked past-paper questions and topic-level progress tracking. Students can build custom quizzes on topics they've flagged as weak, and a wrong-answer mode lets them cycle back through mistakes rather than starting a fresh set each time. It's designed to be used in short bursts around a busy school timetable, which suits residential and day students equally.
