Is Cognito free to use?

Yes! You can use Cognito for free - all our revision notes, videos, quizzes, and flashcards are available without paying anything. We also have a Pro subscription that removes usage limits if you want unlimited access.

What levels and subjects do you cover?

We cover KS3, GCSE, A-Level, IB, and AP content across sciences, maths, English, humanities, and more. Our content is aligned with a range of UK exam boards including (but not limited to) AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and WJEC, plus international curricula. We're always adding more, so it's best to use the courses menu to see if we offer what you're after.

Is Cognito specific to my course?

Yes. When you select your qualification and exam board, Cognito tailors the content and quizzes to match your specific syllabus. This means you only see what's relevant to your exams.

What if I don't know which course or exam board I'm studying?

No worries! Ask your teacher which exam board your school follows for each subject. You can also check your school's website or look at past papers you've been given - the exam board is usually on the front page.

How do I use the interactive study tools?

Once you've selected your course, you'll find revision notes, video lessons, practice questions, and flashcards organised by topic. Work through the content, then test yourself with the quizzes. Your progress is tracked automatically so you can see which areas need more work.

I forgot my password. How do I recover it?

Click 'Forgot password' on the sign-in page and enter the email address associated with your account. We'll send you a link to reset your password. If you don't receive the email, check your spam folder, and make sure your inbox isn't full.

Can multiple students share a Cognito account?

We strongly recommend that each student has their own account so that progress tracking and recommendations work correctly.

What teacher functionality do you offer?

At the moment Cognito doesn't offer any teacher-specific functionality, though we are currently working on providing a better teacher experience so watch this space!

I signed up as a teacher, but I seem to have a student account?

This is working as intended. At the moment, teacher and student accounts behave identically.

Do you offer a bulk subscription for schools?

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

You can cancel anytime from your account settings, by navigating to 'Manage Subscription' from the dropdown menu. You'll keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period, then your subscription won't renew after that.

How do I change my subscription plan?

Accepted Answer

We don't currently support switching between monthly and annual directly from the Manage Subscription page. If you'd like to change plan, you'll need to cancel your current subscription and then resubscribe on the plan you want.

Can I pause my subscription?

We don't currently offer a pause feature, but you can cancel and re-subscribe at any time. Your progress and data are always saved, even without an active subscription.

Can I pay per subject?

No. Our Pro subscription covers all subjects. We've designed it this way so you can explore and revise across all your subjects without worrying about additional costs.

Do you offer a discount for multiple subscriptions or bundles?

What is your refund policy?

If you're not satisfied with Cognito Pro within the first 14 days, contact us at hello@cognitoedu.org for a full refund. After 14 days, we offer prorated refunds on a case-by-case basis.
