Best iGCSE schools in Bangalore (2026 guide)

If you're weighing up iGCSE for your child in Bangalore, you're in one of the deepest international-schools markets in India. The Cambridge iGCSE (from Cambridge Assessment International Education, CAIE) is a two-year Grade 9-10 programme that's recognised by universities worldwide and is the on-ramp most Bangalore families use before an IB Diploma, A Levels, or the Indian ISC.

Bangalore parents tend to choose iGCSE for two reasons: the curriculum is more flexible than CBSE or ICSE at Grade 9-10, and it dovetails neatly with the IB Diploma at nearly every international school in the city. Geographically, the market clusters in three places. The biggest by far is the Whitefield to Sarjapur Road corridor in the south-east, which is home to schools like TISB, Inventure, GIIS Whitefield and Greenwood High. North Bangalore around Yelahanka and Devanahalli has Canadian International, Mallya Aditi and Harrow Bengaluru. And Electronic City and Bannerghatta Road on the southern edge hold Candor, Sarala Birla and others.

The market is almost entirely Cambridge. Very few Bangalore schools currently confirm a live Pearson Edexcel iGCSE pathway on their own website.

How to shortlist an iGCSE school in Bangalore

Before you visit anywhere, it helps to filter down. A few things worth checking:

Board and affiliation. In Bangalore, iGCSE almost always means Cambridge (CAIE). If you specifically want Edexcel, be prepared to make direct enquiries, because it's not common on school websites here. Harrow Bengaluru follows the British national curriculum, which ends in IGCSE at Year 11, but doesn't badge itself explicitly as CAIE on its homepage.

Fee transparency. Most Bangalore Cambridge schools work on a "fees on enquiry" basis, so it's worth asking each school directly how transparent they are about their fee structure, what's included, and how fees change year on year. Aggregator sites often quote figures, but these can be out of date and vary wildly, so always confirm directly with the school.

IB continuation pathway. Most Bangalore iGCSE schools continue into the IB Diploma at Grade 11-12. A few, like Ekya JP Nagar and Aurinko, currently end at Grade 10, so you'd need to plan a move for sixth form.

IGCSE-only vs full continuum. Some schools run Cambridge Primary and Lower Secondary before IGCSE (Oasis, Legacy, GIIS, Trio), which gives a smoother transition. Others take Cambridge intake at Grade 8 or 9.

Boarding. If you need boarding, options are limited: TISB, Greenwood High, Candor, Sarala Birla and Harrow Bengaluru are among the main ones in the city.

The schools

Whitefield and Sarjapur Road corridor

The International School Bangalore (TISB) sits on a 140-acre campus off Whitefield-Sarjapur Road near Dommasandra Circle. It offers Cambridge IGCSE for Grades 9-10 and IB Diploma for Grades 11-12, with 320+ boarding students alongside its day cohort. Part of the NAFL / Neev Group heritage and one of the most established international schools in the city.

Inventure Academy is on the same Whitefield-Sarjapur axis at Chikkavaderpura, with additional campuses at Yeshwanthpur and a Whitefield preschool. It runs Cambridge IGCSE plus AS and A Levels, and also offers ICSE/ISC. EducationWorld has ranked Inventure the top co-ed day school in Karnataka since 2020. Day school only, no boarding.

GIIS Whitefield on Whitefield-Sarjapur Main Road introduced Cambridge Grade 10 IGCSE from the 2023-24 academic year, and also offers CBSE as an alternative pathway. GIIS materials cite 70+ IGCSE subject choices.

Greenwood High International School at Sarjapur is a large day-cum-boarding school offering Cambridge IGCSE plus IB Diploma, with a separate ICSE campus alongside. Boarding is available, which is unusual for the corridor.

VIBGYOR High Marathahalli is on Whitefield Road at Thubarahalli, running the Cambridge CAIE pathway from Grade I to XII. A more mainstream option compared to the boutique international schools nearby.

PNC Cognitio School at Kadugodi in Whitefield is a smaller, newer school (established 2017) on a 7-acre campus, offering Cambridge International K-12 alongside ICSE.

Ryan Global School, Kundalahalli in the AECS Layout area of Whitefield runs Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE and Cambridge Advanced under the Ryan International Group.

Gopalan International School (Hoodi) is behind SAP Labs in the Whitefield tech-park belt, offering Cambridge from Grade V to X plus ICSE and ISC at senior level.

Primus Public School off Sarjapur Road at Chikkanayakanahalli is an approved CAIE centre, with ICSE at Grades 1-7, Cambridge IGCSE from Grade 8, and AS/A Levels post-16.

Aurinko Academy just off Sarjapur Road near Kasavanahalli is a Cambridge International K-10 school (CAIE registration IA819), covering Cambridge Primary through IGCSE. It currently stops at Grade 10, so no post-16 pathway on-campus.

North Bangalore

Canadian International School (CIS) at Yelahanka was the first IB school in Bangalore, and offers Cambridge IGCSE followed by the IB Diploma. The school reports 40 nationalities on campus, a 6:1 student-teacher ratio, and it's 100% solar-powered.

Mallya Aditi International School (established 1984) at Yelahanka New Town runs ICSE alongside Cambridge IGCSE for Grades 9-10, then ISC and Cambridge AS/A Levels / AICE Diploma for Grades 11-12. Aditi is well-regarded (ranked in the top 10 nationally in the 2024 CFore survey) and around 650 students in total.

Trio World Academy at Sahakar Nagar, near Hebbal on the airport corridor, offers Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE alongside the IB PYP and Diploma. Popular among expatriate families in North Bangalore.

Harrow International School Bengaluru at Devanahalli near the airport opened in August 2023 on a 60-acre campus. It follows the British national curriculum leading to IGCSE in Year 11 and either A Levels or IB Diploma in Years 12-13. Day and boarding, with capacity for 500+.

New Horizon International School at Byrathi on Hennur Main Road runs Cambridge CAIE alongside a hybrid CBSE offering, from Primary through Grade 12.

Hennur Road and Kothanur

Bangalore International School (BIS) at Geddalahalli on the Hennur-Bagalur road is one of the oldest international schools in the city, offering Cambridge IGCSE, AS/A Levels and the IB Diploma. It has a dedicated Learning Centre for supported learning.

Legacy School, Bangalore at Byrathi is a smaller day school (around 900 students, class-size cap 24) on the same north-east corridor as BIS, running the full Cambridge pathway from Primary through Advanced Levels plus the IB Diploma.

South Bangalore, Electronic City and Bannerghatta

Candor International School on the Begur-Koppa Road near Electronic City offers Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma, and is one of the few Bangalore Cambridge schools with residential facilities from Grade 5. Both weekly and full boarding are available.

Sarala Birla Academy on the Bannerghatta-Jigani Road offers ICSE/ISC, Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma pathways. Residential from Grade 5. IGCSE within a full boarding setup is unusual in Bangalore.

Redbridge International Academy on an 18-acre campus near Electronic City off Bannerghatta Road offers ICSE, ISC, Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma under one roof, with boarding available from Class 4.

Ekya Schools (JP Nagar) in South Bangalore is a registered Cambridge International School offering IGCSE from Grade 8, alongside ICSE. Ekya's JP Nagar and Byrathi campuses are its Cambridge senior campuses; other Ekya sites run CBSE. Note that the JP Nagar Cambridge pathway currently terminates at Grade 10, with onward study via a partner PU college.

Oasis International School on the Bidarahalli main campus off Hennur Road offers the full Cambridge Pathway (Primary through AS/A Level), plus Early Years campuses at Koramangala and Cooke Town. Founded 1999, and one of the few schools in the city with a Cambridge Professional Development Qualification (PDQ) Centre.

Kanakapura Road (residential)

JAIN International Residential School (JIRS) at Jakkasandra Post in Kanakapura Taluk sits about 50 km south-west of central Bangalore on a 350-acre residential campus. It offers CBSE, Cambridge IGCSE and the IB Diploma.

Sub-areas: Whitefield and Sarjapur Road

Whitefield is the largest iGCSE cluster in the city. If you live there, you have realistic options in TISB, Inventure, GIIS Whitefield, PNC Cognitio, VIBGYOR Marathahalli, Ryan Global Kundalahalli and Gopalan Hoodi. TISB is the corridor's boarding option; the others are day schools.

Sarjapur Road, running south-east towards Attibele, shares its northern end with the Whitefield-Sarjapur corridor. On or off Sarjapur itself you'll find TISB and Inventure clustered around Dommasandra Circle, Greenwood High at Sarjapur village, and Primus and Aurinko in the Chikkanayakanahalli / Kasavanahalli belt. It's the strongest Cambridge concentration outside of Whitefield proper.

Supplementing school with Cognito

If you want an online way to supplement your child's iGCSE studies at any of the schools above, Cognito's free platform has notes, video lessons, quizzes and past papers for Cambridge and Edexcel iGCSE across sciences, maths and more. It's handy for evening revision, tutor prep, or filling in when the school schedule doesn't match your child's pace, especially in the run-up to Grade 10 mocks.

Everything on the student side is free to use. You can create an account, dip into notes on a specific topic, work through quiz questions on the bits your child finds tricky, or use past papers by topic to practise before school assessments. If your child is between exam boards (moving from CBSE into Cambridge iGCSE, for example), it's a low-risk way to bridge the gap without committing to tuition.

Have a look at Cognito and see if it fits.
