Best iGCSE schools in Hyderabad (2026 guide)
Hyderabad's iGCSE market is quieter than Bengaluru's or Mumbai's, but it's steady and growing. The city is dominated by Cambridge (CAIE) providers, and Insight International School still runs a live Pearson Edexcel pathway alongside Cambridge. If you want Edexcel in Hyderabad in 2026, Insight is the clearest confirmed option.
Geographically, schools cluster along the western IT corridor (Gachibowli, Serilingampally, Financial District, Kollur, Nallagandla), the south-west (Kokapet, Gandipet), the north-west (Bachupally, Bowrampet) and the older city and Secunderabad side (Begumpet, Nacharam). Where you live tends to decide the shortlist more than anything else.
How to shortlist
A few things worth deciding early:
Board. In Hyderabad, this mostly means Cambridge or CBSE. Many of the schools on this list run both under one roof, so a Cambridge shortlist is often also a "school with a CBSE fallback" shortlist. The Gaudium is one of the rare schools that runs Cambridge, IB and CBSE together.
Fees. Most schools publish "fees on enquiry" rather than specific figures. Third-party aggregator figures exist but they can be out of date, so it's worth booking a call directly with the school.
What happens after Grade 10. If you want a smooth IB Diploma continuation, some well-regarded Cambridge-affiliated schools in the city are CHIREC, Oakridge, International School of Hyderabad, Gaudium, and Sreenidhi. If you're more open to A Levels, Sancta Maria, Manthan, HPS Begumpet, DPS Nacharam, Kairos and Solitaire all continue into Cambridge AS/A Level.
Boarding. Day is the dominant model. HPS Begumpet has historic boys' boarding heritage, but the current website content we reviewed doesn't confirm boarding as an active option, so worth checking directly if that matters to you.
The schools
Sancta Maria International School (Serilingampally)
A 5-acre campus with roughly 1,600 students, running the full Cambridge pathway from Early Years through A Level. Part of the International Schools Partnership network. At the 2025 Cambridge South Asia Conference, the school reported that 67% of the ICE cohort earned Distinction and 33% Merit.
CHIREC International School (Serilingampally campus)
CHIREC runs four campuses across Hyderabad, but the Serilingampally site is the flagship Cambridge and IB campus, sitting on 9.5 acres. It offers IGCSE alongside IB DP and CP, with CBSE available separately at the Kondapur campus.
Oakridge International School, Bachupally
Part of the Nord Anglia Education network. Oakridge Bachupally runs Cambridge from Grade VI through IGCSE, with IB PYP for the youngest years and a CBSE alternative. Average class size sits around 20, and the campus hosts students from 20+ nationalities. Day school only.
International School of Hyderabad (ISH)
A not-for-profit, US-style international school hosted on the ICRISAT campus at Patancheru. ISH runs Cambridge IGCSE for Grades 9-10 and the IB Diploma for Grades 11-12, with a genuinely multinational student body.
The Gaudium School (Kollur + Nanakramguda)
One of a small group of Hyderabad schools that offers all three of Cambridge, IB (PYP, MYP, DP) and CBSE under one roof. The main residential-scale campus sits at Kollur, about 20km from Gachibowli, with a second campus at Nanakramguda. IB World School code 052185.
Manthan International School (Tellapur)
Also part of the International Schools Partnership. Student-teacher ratio around 1:9. The school reports that 71% of the 2024 IGCSE cohort scored A/A*, and it has picked up Cambridge Outstanding Learner's Awards in 2023 and 2024.
Birla Open Minds International School (Kollur)
An 8-acre campus near the Financial District running Cambridge, CBSE and the IB Career-related Programme. Ranked #1 in Hyderabad's Preschool Ranking 2024-25 by EducationWorld, so it skews well-regarded at the early end; the IGCSE offer runs through Grade 10.
The Hyderabad Public School (HPS), Begumpet
HPS is Hyderabad's grand old school. Founded in 1923 on the lines of Eton College by the seventh Nizam, it sits on a 122-acre campus in Begumpet. Cambridge was reintroduced in 2020 and now runs alongside the school's long-standing ICSE/ISC track. Alumni include Satya Nadella and Shantanu Narayen.
Delhi Public School (DPS), Nacharam
On the Secunderabad side, DPS Nacharam runs Cambridge (IGCSE, AS and A Level) alongside CBSE. The Cambridge subject offer is broad, with the school citing 70+ IGCSE subjects, and it runs merit-based scholarships with tuition waivers up to 100%.
Kairos International School (Financial District)
Kairos sits in Serilingampally near KIMS Hospitals in the Rai Durg / Khajaguda area. It runs the full Cambridge pathway from Early Years through IGCSE and Cambridge Advanced, plus CBSE. Founded in 2017, it picked up a Times Education / IEDA "Hyderabad's Best Emerging School" award for 2021-22.
Solitaire Global School (Attapur + Katedan)
A rare Cambridge-only school, with no CBSE parallel. The Attapur campus covers Kindergarten to Grade 12, including IGCSE and AS/A Level; the Katedan campus runs through Grade 10. The school is a member of AFS Intercultural Programs and MISA.
Epistemo Vikas Leadership School (Nallagandla)
Epistemo runs an integrated curriculum through Class 7, then offers a choice between IGCSE and CBSE from Grade 8. The site confirms IGCSE through Grade 10, though senior Cambridge availability isn't clearly laid out, worth asking about at enquiry. Features include STEAM Robotics, an InTACH heritage programme, and the International School Award.
Where Cognito fits in
Cognito is a UK study platform built for iGCSE and A Level students. It covers the Cambridge science specifications (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Combined Science) and Maths in depth, with structured notes, worked example videos, past-paper questions organised by topic, flashcards, and a custom quiz builder. Most students use it alongside school, sitting past questions during revision, using flashcards for retrieval practice, and hitting the wrong-answer mode before mocks.
If your child is starting IGCSE at any of the Hyderabad schools above in September, it's worth having a look at how Cognito breaks down each specification into small, testable topics. There's a free tier to get started.
