Best iGCSE schools in Sarjapur Road, Bangalore (2026 guide)

Why Sarjapur Road has become an iGCSE hotspot

Sarjapur Road runs south-east out of central Bengaluru towards Attibele, and over the last decade it has quietly turned into one of the city's densest clusters of Cambridge iGCSE schools. The reasons are demographic more than educational. The corridor sits at the southern edge of Bangalore's tech belt, wrapping round Wipro's Sarjapur campus, RGA Tech Park and the Outer Ring Road IT hubs, and continues north into Whitefield, where a lot of India's outsourced software and multinational R&D work happens. Families relocating for those jobs tend to arrive with a preference for internationally portable qualifications, and Cambridge iGCSE is the option most Bangalore international schools have standardised on.

The upshot for parents living along Sarjapur Road, HSR Layout, Kasavanahalli or the Off-Sarjapur belt is that you have a number of Cambridge schools within a reasonable drive, plus the wider Whitefield cluster a short hop north. This guide walks through Cambridge iGCSE schools with a Sarjapur Road or Off-Sarjapur presence, plus the Whitefield adjacencies that are commonly within reach.

A quick note on scope. Every school listed here has been checked against its own official website. A few schools that appear on aggregator "top iGCSE Sarjapur" lists (for instance Indus International, which is Sarjapur-based) currently confirm only IB on their own site, so we have left them out and flagged them at the end.

How to shortlist an iGCSE school on Sarjapur Road

There is no single "best" school here, so the more useful question is which shortlist fits your family. A few things to weigh up:

  • Post-16 pathway. Most Sarjapur schools take Cambridge iGCSE at Grades 9-10 and then split. TISB and Greenwood High move into IB Diploma for Grades 11-12. Inventure and Primus continue into Cambridge AS and A Levels. Aurinko currently stops at Grade 10. If you already have a preference between IB and A Levels, that narrows the list quickly.
  • Day or boarding. Most schools in this cluster are day schools. TISB and Greenwood High are the two with boarding available if you want a residential option without leaving the corridor.
  • Commute. Sarjapur Road traffic is notoriously slow at peak hours. A school that looks close on a map can be a long daily commute in reality. Test the drive at 8am and 4pm before you commit.
  • Age range. Some schools run from pre-primary all the way through Grade 12 on one campus, others (like Ekya's Sarjapur-adjacent peers) are structured across separate junior and senior campuses.

Once you have two or three shortlisted, book the campus tours back to back. Trust the feeling of the classrooms and the way current students talk about school more than the marketing materials.

Cambridge iGCSE schools on Sarjapur Road

Top iGCSE schools along Sarjapur Road include:

The International School Bangalore (TISB)

TISB sits at NAFL Valley on the Whitefield-Sarjapur Road axis, near Dommasandra Circle. It runs Cambridge iGCSE at Grades 9-10 and the IB Diploma Programme at Grades 11-12, alongside a Primary Years Programme lower down. The campus is around 140 acres and it is one of the few schools in the corridor with day and boarding, hosting a reported 320-plus boarding students. Grades run from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12. Website: tisb.org.

Inventure Academy

Inventure's main campus is at Chikkavaderpura, also near Dommasandra Circle on the Whitefield-Sarjapur road, and it offers Cambridge iGCSE at Grades 9-10 followed by AS and A Levels at Grades 11-12. It also runs the ICSE and ISC pathway in parallel. It is a day school (no boarding) covering Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12. EducationWorld has placed Inventure at the top of its Karnataka co-ed day school ranking in recent years, though as with any single ranking that is worth checking against your own priorities. Website: inventureacademy.com.

Greenwood High International School (Sarjapur)

Greenwood High's Sarjapur International campus runs Cambridge iGCSE at Grades 9-10 and the IB Diploma Programme at Grades 11-12. The school describes itself as an "International Day-cum-Boarding School" and boarding is available. Grades run from pre-primary through Grade 12. Greenwood also runs an ICSE campus at Sarjapur and a separate Bannerghatta cluster in south Bengaluru. Website: greenwoodhigh.edu.in.

Primus Public School

Primus is at Chikkanayakanahalli, Off Sarjapur Road, and is an approved Cambridge Assessment International Education centre. It runs ICSE for Grades 1-7 and then switches to Cambridge iGCSE from Grade 8, continuing into AS and A Levels post-16. Website: primusschool.edu.in.

Aurinko Academy

Aurinko sits just Off Sarjapur Road near Kasavanahalli and is a registered Cambridge International school running from Cambridge Primary through Cambridge Upper Secondary and iGCSE. Worth noting: Aurinko's site currently confirms coverage up to Grade 10, so if you want the same school to take your child through Cambridge AS and A Levels or the IB Diploma, this may not be a full end-to-end fit. Website: aurinkoacademy.com.

Whitefield adjacencies within a short drive

The northern end of Sarjapur Road blurs into the wider Whitefield cluster, and for families living near Dommasandra, Varthur or Gunjur these schools are often practical. Cambridge-affiliated schools in the Sarjapur corridor include:

  • GIIS Whitefield: on Whitefield-Sarjapur Main Road at Gunjur Post. Runs Cambridge Lower Secondary and iGCSE (Grade 10 introduced from AY 2023-24), with a CBSE stream in parallel. Website: globalindianschool.org/bangalore/whitefield.
  • VIBGYOR High Marathahalli: on Whitefield Road at Thubarahalli, near Marathahalli. Cambridge pathway from Grade 1 through Grade 12. Website: vibgyorhigh.com.
  • Ryan Global School, Kundalahalli: on the Whitefield corridor at AECS Layout. Cambridge Lower Secondary, iGCSE and Cambridge Advanced. Website: ryanglobalschools.com.
  • PNC Cognitio School: off Kadugodi, Whitefield. ICSE and Cambridge International K-12, including A Levels. Website: pnccs.edu.in.

Schools sometimes listed as Sarjapur iGCSE but not verified

Indus International School (Sarjapur) is often included on aggregator "top iGCSE Sarjapur" lists. At the time of writing, its own website foregrounds IB (PYP, MYP and DP) and does not describe a Cambridge iGCSE pathway on the admissions overview. It may be worth confirming directly with the school if you specifically want iGCSE at that campus. Silver Oaks, sometimes tagged in older listings for Sarjapur and Whitefield, currently describes CBSE and IB on its own site rather than Cambridge iGCSE, and its Bangalore campuses are reportedly rebranding to One World International School.

How Cognito helps students preparing for iGCSE

Cognito is an online learning platform used by iGCSE students preparing across the Cambridge and Edexcel syllabuses. It covers video lessons, spaced-repetition flashcards and past-paper questions organised by topic, and is used both as independent home study and as a supplement to school lessons. For students at Sarjapur Road schools who want extra structured revision outside classroom time, particularly across GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths, Cognito's topic-by-topic breakdown makes it easier to work through weak areas in short focused sessions. You can explore it at cognitoedu.org.
