Best iGCSE schools in Delhi (2026 guide)

If you're looking at the iGCSE market in Delhi in 2026, one thing worth knowing up front: the market is dominated by Cambridge (CAIE). The British School Chanakyapuri is affiliated with both Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel, and the other Delhi-city schools we could verify run Cambridge only at Grade 10. If you specifically want Edexcel, The British School is the clearest option inside Delhi proper.

This guide covers Delhi proper, not the wider NCR. Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Ghaziabad each have their own strong Cambridge scenes (Shiv Nadar, GD Goenka World School, Pathways, Amity Global, Genesis Global and others live in those cities, not Delhi itself) and we'll cover those in separate posts. Everything below is inside Delhi.

One trap to watch for on aggregator "top iGCSE" lists: several Delhi schools market a "Cambridge Wing" or Cambridge pathway that in reality runs only at Early Years, Primary or Lower Secondary level and then rejoins CBSE for Class 9 onwards. K.R. Mangalam World School GK-II is an example the school itself is transparent about: its Cambridge page states the curriculum is currently offered up to Class VIII, with plans to extend to Upper Secondary in due course. In Delhi, "Cambridge school" and "iGCSE at Grade 10" are not the same claim. Confirm the Grade 10 pathway with the school before you get too far into the process.

How to shortlist

A few practical filters worth applying before you start touring schools.

Confirm the pathway at Grade 10. As above, aggregator lists conflate schools that run Cambridge up to primary or middle school with schools that run a full iGCSE cohort at Grades 9 and 10. Ask directly: "Do you currently sit Cambridge IGCSE examinations at the end of Grade 10 on this campus?" If the answer is "planned" or "coming soon", that's a different school year decision than it looks.

Think about location and traffic. Delhi is big and the commute reality varies wildly. The iGCSE schools cluster in central Delhi (Chanakyapuri, Vasant Kunj), South Delhi (Saket, New Friends Colony, Greater Kailash, Kailash Colony), South-West Delhi (Dwarka), West Delhi (Paschim Vihar) and North-West Delhi (Ashok Vihar, Pitampura). Two schools that look similar on paper can be an hour apart at 8am.

Ask about class 11-12. Some Delhi schools continue on the Cambridge Advanced (AS/A Level) pathway after iGCSE. Others revert to CBSE AISSCE for Class 11-12. Summer Fields Kailash Colony is a clear example of the latter: Cambridge IGCSE at Class 9-10, then CBSE for the last two years. Neither model is wrong, but they lead to very different university application experiences.

IGCSE at Grade 10 (Cambridge Secondary 2) is tagged in third-party listings but not itself confirmed in the school pages we reviewed, so worth checking directly.

How Cognito can help alongside iGCSE

Cognito is a UK-based online learning platform used by tens of thousands of students studying iGCSE and GCSE sciences and maths. If your child is at any of the Cambridge schools above, Cognito can sit alongside their school work as an at-home revision tool: short structured video lessons, exam-style questions with worked solutions, and topic-by-topic tracking of what's been mastered and what still needs work. It's particularly useful in the run-up to the Cambridge IGCSE exam series, when families often want a second source of explanations and a way for students to practise independently at home. Individual student subscriptions are available, and schools can also license Cognito across a full cohort. You can try it at cognitoedu.org.
