Best iGCSE Maths tutors in Hong Kong (2026 guide)
If your child is heading into iGCSE Maths in Hong Kong, the version they'll almost certainly sit is Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (0580). It's the most-taught Maths syllabus across HK's international schools, split into a Core paper (grades C to G) and an Extended paper (grades A* to E). Cambridge International Mathematics (0607) shows up in IB-track schools, and a smaller group of students take Cambridge Additional Mathematics (0606) alongside 0580. Edexcel IGCSE Maths A (4MA1) is also common at Pearson-affiliated centres.
Maths is the biggest iGCSE tuition category in Hong Kong. Every named centre in this guide offers it, rates cover a huge range, and the choice between one-to-one and small-group teaching matters more here than in most other subjects.
Rates and details in this guide were checked at the time of writing (July 2026). Tutor pricing shifts, so it's worth confirming current rates directly with any centre or platform you shortlist.
Map the gaps before you book hours
Before paying anywhere from HK2,000 an hour for a Maths tutor, it's worth mapping your child's gaps first. A tutor with a clear brief on which topics need work is far more useful than one figuring it out session by session.
Cognito's free online platform is one way to do that. Working through the iGCSE Maths topics and quizzes flags which areas need work, so students walk into their first tutor session knowing where to focus. Families who do this often book fewer tutor hours or cover certain topics on their own.

How to choose
One-to-one or group?
For iGCSE 0580, one-to-one is the default at most HK centres. Group teaching becomes worth considering when your child is broadly on track and needs pace, exam practice and a peer benchmark rather than re-teaching. HKETS is a useful yardstick: HK550 per hour group. If the issue is a small number of weak topics, one-to-one hours are usually better spent. If they're grinding past papers and want the discipline of a scheduled class, group works fine.
Online or in-person?
In-person still dominates HK premium tuition, but online has grown fast. TigerCampus quotes HK400-650 for home tuition. In-person tends to suit younger students and those who need a stricter working environment; online opens up tutors who wouldn't otherwise be reachable.
Rates. Realistic bracket for iGCSE Maths one-to-one is HK1,200 per hour at a named centre, with BartyED's HK2,080 sitting at the top. GETUTOR's HK$180-400 band applies mainly to student and full-time (non-teacher) tutors.
