If you've opened GCSE Biology, Chemistry or Physics and found it looks different, that's because we've rebuilt all three from scratch. Every topic has brand new notes, with its video on the same page, and we've rewritten nearly all the quiz questions and flashcards. Wherever the content matches, your progress has come with you.
This page explains what's new, what's happened to your progress, and where to find the old course if you still need it. Or watch the video below for a quick tour.
What's new
Revision notes
Each subtopic now has one page with its video and notes together, so you can watch the explanation and read it back without switching between pages.
The videos have timestamps too, so you can jump straight to the part you need, and they tell you which sections of the video match your exam board, tier and pathway. The notes below are written for your course, so if something isn't on it, you won't see it.
Quiz
Every subtopic has a new quiz, written to match the new notes, with more to it than multiple choice:
- Multiple choice – pick the right answer
- Single word – type the answer, or a number for a calculation
- Missing word – fill the gaps, with a word bank if you want one
- Mix and match – pair each term with what it means
- Reordering – put the steps of a process in order
- Written answer – write a longer answer, then get AI feedback on it against the mark scheme
Calculation questions come with step-by-step hints, which give you the equation, show you what to substitute, and then help you solve it. Like the notes, the quiz only tests what's on your course.
Flashcards
Each subtopic also has a new set of flashcards covering its key ideas. They're matched to your course in the same way, so every card is something you need to know.

The new courses cover ten exam boards, with a separate version for each tier and pathway, so whichever course you're taking, what you see matches your specification.

Your progress
Wherever the new content matches the old, we've copied your progress across, so the work you've already done still counts. Anything brand new starts empty.
If you'd rather start fresh, you can reset your progress in account settings. You can choose which courses to reset, so starting GCSE Chemistry again won't touch your other subjects.
The old course
The old version of each course is still there if you need it. At the top of the course page, open the menu that shows your tier and pathway, and choose Legacy course under Version. The same menu takes you back to the new course.
We'll remove the legacy courses in summer 2027. Anything you do on the legacy course won't be copied to the new one, so it's best for looking something up rather than for your main revision.
