key tips for success

  • Master financial calculations

Break-even, cash flow, gross and net profit margins, ratios, practise until automatic. Numerical questions are guaranteed marks.

  • Build a case-study bank

Follow UK business news through the year. Have 5-6 well-known businesses to reference in essay answers.

  • Structure evaluation answers

AO3 is 30% and rewards judgement. Every long answer needs a defensible conclusion backed by weighed arguments.

  • Learn theories of motivation

Maslow, Herzberg, Taylor, know each theory's key claims and applications.

  • Master the marketing mix

Product, price, promotion, place. Practise applying to varied contexts.
