key tips for success

  • Master financial calculations

Break-even, cash flow, gross and net profit margins. Practise until automatic, calculation questions are guaranteed marks.

  • Build a global case-study bank

Follow international business news through the year (BBC Business, Bloomberg). IGCSE contexts are global.

  • Structure evaluation answers

AO4 (11-12%) rewards reasoned judgement and conclusions, and AO3 (22-23%) rewards analysis of business information. Every long answer needs a defensible conclusion backed by weighed arguments drawn from the case material.

  • Learn theories of motivation

Maslow, Herzberg, Taylor, know each theory and when to apply. Frequently examined.

  • Master the marketing mix

Product, price, promotion, place, with worked examples. The 4Ps recur across both papers.

  • Use past papers

Edexcel IGCSE Business has years of past papers. Do timed practice through year 10.
