How do I know if I've properly learned a topic in Chemistry?

A really good sign that you've genuinely learned a topic is that you can explain it from memory without your notes, a technique sometimes called the blurt technique. If the ideas flow without you needing to peek, you've made a solid start on the AO1 knowledge (demonstrating what you know), which makes up around 40% of your AQA Chemistry marks.

But recall alone isn't enough, because AQA also awards 40% of marks for AO2, which is about applying your knowledge to unfamiliar contexts. We'd suggest working through our exam practice questions on that topic to check whether you can use what you know in the way AQA expects.
