Each exam series produces two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2), so a solid bank of practice material has built up since exams first ran in 2019. When you feel confident with the content, completing a full paper within the 1 hour 45 minutes allocated helps you build the pace and stamina you'll need on exam day across 90 marks. For Section A's shorter questions, marking is relatively straightforward since you're checking your responses against specific points listed in the scheme. The longer case study questions in Sections B and C involve analysis and evaluation, so they use levels-of-response marking: rather than ticking individual points, you read the level descriptors and match your whole answer to the level that best fits what you wrote. AQA's examiners' reports, also available on the AQA site, explain the most common errors and what distinguished strong answers, which makes them just as valuable as the mark scheme itself.
